Colour of Time - NAIDOC Exhibition

Coinciding with NAIDOC Week, the Colour of Time exhibition brought together the oldest continuous culture on Earth with one of the most ancient creative practices, glassmaking, to showcase the work of First Nations glass artists.
This exhibition was a collaborative project between Rickie Gugumah Martin and two not-for-profit organisations: GLAAS Inc (Glass Light Art Architecture Synergies), which promotes and supports the use of glass in art and architecture, and the Melbourne Athenaeum, which commenced in 1839 as the Melbourne Mechanics' Institution and is the city's oldest cultural institution.
The exhibition featured the work of artists who had participated in the First Nations Glass Workshop Program, initiated by GLAAS Inc in 2022. The free program provided artists with the opportunity to learn glassmaking techniques while being taught and mentored by First Nations artists.
