OUR PROGRAMS
GLAAS INC develops innovative programs that open new opportunities for artists and designers to work with glass in art and architecture, while supporting pathways to commercial outcomes and employment/self employment. At the same time, GLAAS INC fosters a supportive community that celebrates the artistry and versatility of glass and explores the endless possibilities this medium offers.
Join us to connect with others who share a passion for glass, and together we can create a vibrant, supportive community celebrating the beauty of designed glass.
First Nations Free Glass Workshops

GLAAS INC offers First Nations artists the chance to explore glass as a creative medium, blending their cultural influences into unique artworks. The program provides free workshops in techniques such as leadlighting, copperfoiling, kilnforming, and glass jewellery, with all materials and equipment supplied.
GLAAS INC Making Glass Accessible Program
GLAAS INC delivers glass workshops for disadvantaged people including those with mental or physical health issues, and/or are unemployed, homeless or in difficult economic circumstances. The workshops are held in Windsor on Wednesday mornings and provide the opportunity for people to use their creativity which is particularly helpful for mental health wellbeing; provide skills that have potential commercial outcomes; and provide a safe, supportive, positive and caring community that focuses on learning new skills and creating with glass. GLAAS INC began delivering these Glass Workshops in 2024 and there have been many benefits to participants, as demonstrated by feedback has been overwhelmingly positive - from feeling calm and happy in the workshop; enjoying the opportunity to utilise their creativity; feeling safe and supported and part of a community; and learning skills which some have taken further to enrol in the Melbourne Polytechnic Glass Courses, and others have made small glass projects for their homes or to exhibit and sell. GLAAS INC Future Teacher Program

GLAAS INC is committed to creating opportunities for graduates of the Melbourne Polytechnic courses, and a highly successful program that has resulted is the GLAAS INC Future Teacher (GIFT) Program. Graduates who are interested in teaching are initially trained through the Workshop Program, going on to deliver workshops as paid teachers. If interested in progressing their teaching skills further they are encouraged to achieve the Certificate IV Training and Assessment qualification which could open opportunities for teaching in the TAFE courses at Melbourne Polytechnic. As at 2025 there are four graduates teaching in the MP courses, and 10 graduates teaching GLAAS INC Workshops. Graduates are mentored by current teachers.
